This hat is simply constructed with ribbed bands and short rows (instructions given). If you have never tried short rows, this is a perfect introduction.

Sizes: adult small, medium, large (shown in medium which should fit most)
Finished Measurements:
medium measures approx 25 cm wide and 18 cm tall lying flat; fits a 53/56/59 cm head
Gauge:
approx 18 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm in St st on 5 mm as given on Malabrigo Twist ball band
Yarn: aran merino wool
Suggested Brand:
1 skein Malabrigo Twist (100% merino; 137 m per 100 g): shown in colour 416 Indiecita (purple)
OR 1 skein Manos Maxima (100% merino; 199 m per 100 g): shown in colour 2130 Maple (orange)

5 mm 40 cm circular
5 mm dpns
or size needed to obtain gauge
Note: you may wish to go down a needle size for the first band – in this case use a 4 mm 40 cm circular
Other Materials: tapestry needle or teeny crochet hook; 2 stitch markers in two colours
